Job Description The Advance Sourcing Manager (ASM) is a key hands-on leadership role and is responsible for providing all advance sourcing support for the site NPD and PRP projects by engaging early and systematically tapping into our internal and external supply base for their innovation capability to achieve higher Quality and Gross Margins at time of new product launch and delivering robust products from a concentrated and committed supply base and delivering greater value to the business. Job Duties Identify manage and develop supplier partners capable of meeting current and future OSTA business needs. Develop and maintain a short medium and long term strategy around supplier management and development of all major OSTA material groups to help ensure high quality cost effective parts are supplied to new product development teams and manufacturing facilities. Working with internal customers develop a supplier segmentation model for each major OSTA material group including identification of Strategic Preferred and Approved suppliers for each material group. Develop and maintain a competency matrix of key suppliers for each major OSTA material group which is able to drive value in the new product development (NPD) process. Ensure competitive pricing on all sourced components through extensive market analysis and benchmarking. Develop and implement mitigation and remediation strategies in coordination with the internal functions. Working closely with internal teams take responsibility for all supplier contracts - NDA (non-disclosure) commercial quality assurance VMI/consignment logistics agreements etc. Actively participate in S&OP process for OEM products working closely with the demand planning and marketing teams. Ensure early supplier identification and selection working closely with Advance Sourcing team during the New Product Development. Provide input to Supplier Review Boards (SRBs) and define Supplier Performance improvement plan for underperforming suppliers to drive improvements to Purchasing KPIs in alignment with KPIs of the manufacturing facilities. Lead/support projects resulting from a cost improvement plan (CIP) or a supplier change notification (SCN) in coordination with internal teams while ensuring no impact to production supply. Manage Approved Supplier List (ASL) and sourcing rules for all the assigned material groups including new supplier setup supplier rationalization material group assignments and supplier category assignments etc. Work closely with wider Purchasing teams across Olympus in the area of global commodity strategy development to drive commonality in processes and leverage purchasing synergies. Job Requirements REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain Management Engineering Finance or equivalent) Minimum of 7 years of experience in New Product Development support Vendor negotiations Purchasing and/or Quality functions preferably in medical device or other regulated industry. Minimum 5 years of experience at management level in medical device or other regulated industry. Travel up to 20% global travel required. PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred. Supply Chain and/or Medical Device quality certifications or training is desired. CPM (NAPM) certification preferred. Strong strategic planning and project management/ organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g. R&D Quality Operations Purchasing Suppliers). Persuasive presenter and facilitator with the ability to engage and gain support throughout senior management team and with junior team members. Financial analysis negotiation strategic analysis and research skills required High energy self motivated hands-on and participatory with strong results orientation and ability to quickly establish priorities. Ability to condense and present complex information to key personnel in meaningful reports and presentations.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
